Four supporting columns figure prominently in a ground floor space. Two additional columns, identical in proportion, are placed side by side in the center, leaving a space of three inches between them. The tall, narrow surfaces forming the gap between the two walls simultaneously “breathes.” As the two walls exhale and swell, the space between them closes; as they inhale and flatten, the gap reopens.
